How It Works
Understand what A1 is, how it connects, and what you can expect from day one
What A1 Is (and Is Not)
What A1 is
A1 is an AI analyst that connects to SAP Business One to help teams understand what is happening in their business, explain changes, and identify risks and opportunities earlier.
It works alongside SAP Business One and existing reports by analyzing ERP data and presenting insights in a way finance and operations teams can act on.
What A1 is not
- Not a replacement for SAP Business One
- Not a BI dashboard or reporting tool
- Not an automation engine by default
- Not a system that bypasses SAP security or permissions
A1 is designed to support analysis and decision-making first. Any automation or write-back is explicitly enabled and controlled.
Connect to SAP Business One
A1 connects to SAP Business One using supported integration methods such as the SAP Service Layer and DI API, depending on the environment.
The connection:
- Respects existing SAP roles and permissions
- Can operate in read-only mode by default
- Does not require changes to the SAP data model
A1 analyzes transactional, master, and historical data across finance, inventory, sales, and operations.
Day-One Experience
A1 works out of the box with standard SAP Business One schemas and business logic.
There is no training required to begin using A1. Teams can start asking questions and reviewing insights immediately after connection.
On day one, A1:
- Uses predefined financial and operational analysis patterns
- Surfaces common risks and exceptions relevant to SAP Business One environments
- Refines its focus over time based on usage and business data, without manual setup
Integration Requirements & Prerequisites
Typical requirements include:
- A supported SAP Business One environment
- Credentials with appropriate read permissions
- Network access between A1 and the SAP system
Implementation usually involves:
- An IT or SAP partner contact for initial connection
- A short validation step to confirm scope and permissions
No additional SAP user licenses are required for A1 access.
From Analysis to Proactive Monitoring
A1 starts as an on-demand analyst that answers questions and explains changes.
As patterns repeat and timing becomes predictable-such as during month-end or quarter-end-A1 begins monitoring relevant signals automatically.
When something changes that would normally prompt an analyst to investigate, A1 highlights it proactively and provides context instead of waiting for a request.
How Customers Typically Start
Most organizations follow a predictable adoption path:
Start with A1 Core
Gain understanding and insight across your SAP Business One data
Use during close, reviews, and planning
Apply intelligence to critical business moments and decision points
Add Role Agents selectively
Enable automation only where business value justifies the investment
Important: Customers do not pay for automation they don't use. You control which agents are enabled and when.
